青，取之于蓝而青于蓝
——《荀子·劝学》
格言大意：青色染料是从蓝草里提取出来的，但颜色比蓝草更深。
Main Idea:Indigo blue is extracted from the indigo plant but is bluer than the plant itself.
郑玄青出于蓝（Zheng Xuan surpassing his teacher）
东汉的郑玄年轻时投到马融门下，学习经学。马融门徒四百多人，郑玄三年都没有见过这位老师一面，他只好跟着几位师兄学。郑玄苦学十几年，学问超过了老师。辞别返乡时，大家都来送他。郑玄回到家乡后，跟随他学习的有三千人，成为当时最有学问的人。
When he was young Zheng Xuan of the Eastern Han Dynasty followed Ma Rong had more than 400 students and Zheng Xuan did not see the teacher for three years.He had to learn form some of his senior schoolmates.Zheng Xuan studied hard for more than ten years snd he surpassed his teacher in learning .When he made his farewells and was ready to go back to his hometown , everyone came to see him off . After Zheng Xuan returned to his hometown ,more then one thousand people came to learn from him .He became the most knowledgeable person of his time .
