祸兮福之所倚，福兮祸之所伏
——《老子》
格言大意：幸福存在于祸难之中，祸难潜伏在幸福之中。
Main Idea: Happiness relays on misfortune while misfortune lies in happiness.
塞翁失马（Old man in frontier area losing his horses）
边塞地区，有一个老人的马跑丢了。别人都来安慰他，他却认为没什么可忧愁的。过了几个月，丢失的马带着一匹骏马回来了，人们又来祝贺。这位老人认为这没什么值得高兴的。不久，儿子骑马摔断了腿，人们又来安慰他。这位老人又觉得没什么大不了的。过了一年，边地发生了战争，青壮年男子都去参加战斗了，死了很多人，唯独这一父子保全了性命。
An old man living in the frontier area lost one of his horses .All the people came to comfort him but he thought there was nothing to worry about. Several months later, the lost horse came back with another fine horse. People all came again to congratulate him .But this old man didn’t see this as something he should be happy about. Before long, his son broke his leg because if riding that fine horse .People came back again to comfort him. Again, this old man felt it was nothing serious. A year later, a war broke out in the frontier area. All the healthy young men were enlisted and many people died in the war .Only this father and his handicapped son saved their lives readily.
