贫而无谄，富而无骄
——《论语·学而》
格言大意：虽然贫穷却不谄媚，虽然富贵却不骄横。
Main Idea : Poverty should not make one servile ,wealth should not make one arrogant.
信陵君富而不骄（Xinlingjun , though rich ,but not arrogant）
战国时魏国的信陵君地位显赫，但是他一点儿也不骄横。当时有个叫侯赢的隐士，是一个地位卑下的看门人，信陵君听说他是个贤士，便亲自赶车去接他。侯赢顺道看望朋友，故意和朋友交谈了很久。信陵君在旁边耐心地等着。侯赢被信陵君的诚意感动了，从此尽心帮助他。
In the Warring States Period ,Prince Xinlingjun held a very high position .But he was not at all arrogant .Hou Ying ,a hermit ,was a humble doorkeeper .When Xinglingjun heard that Hou was a man of virtue ,he drove his cart himself to invite him back. On the way Hou Ying dropped in at his friend’s house and intentionally talked with his friend for a long time .Xinlingjun waited for him patiently .Hou Ying was touched by his sincerity and from then on did his utmost to help him. |
