百闻不如一见
——《汉书·赵充国传》
格言大意：听别人说一百次，不如自己亲眼看一下。
Main Idea: Hearing people talk about something a hundred times is not as good as seeing it once yourself.
眼见为实（Seeing is believing）
赵充国是汉朝的一员名将。汉宣帝时期，外敌在西北边境挑衅，老将赵充国自告奋勇前往抗敌。汉宣帝问他需要多少兵马时，他说要亲自到前方侦查后才能制定作战计划。后来，他果然一举评定了外敌的侵扰，安定了西北边疆。
Zhao Chongguo was a famous general in the Han Dynasty. In the period of Emperor Xuandi, outside enemies challenged on the northwest boarder. The veteran general Zhao volunteered to fight with them. Emperor Xuandi asked him how many troops and horses he needed. He said he couldn’t make the battle plan until he reconnoitered the front himself. He did put down the invasion battle, winning peace for the northwest frontier.
